Barred Owl Takes Flight

Intrepid photographer Gregg Thompson roams the Seattle area - always on the lookout for a good photo story. On this lucky day he captured a Barred Owl taking flight.  

Barred Owls expanded their range from eastern North American into California and the Pacific Northwest in the 1900s. They do not migrate so they can be found here year around.
