Join BirdNote tomorrow, November 30th!
Illustrator David Sibley and actor H. Jon Benjamin will face off in the bird illustration battle of the century during BirdNote's Year-end Celebration and Auction!
BirdNote operates on the simple premise that the joy of birds is a unifying force between people of all walks of life.
As a media production company focused on inspiring people to care about birds and the natural world, BirdNote recognizes that much of the mainstream environmental movement and public media has historically been championed for, funded by, and focused on white people and privileged groups. We also recognize that given the long and ongoing history of racial oppression in the United States, BirdNote will perpetuate racial inequities unless we intentionally practice antiracism in our organizational processes and media production. Representation matters, and we aim to provide a platform where BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, and other communities who have been excluded, are welcome, honored, and centered. BirdNote exists to connect people of all identities, backgrounds, and levels of interest and experience to the joy of birds and the comfort and healing that nature can offer.
BirdNote is for everyone. Our work seeks to spark joy and hope in all listeners; when we have something to love about the natural world, we feel moved to protect it. The survival of birds and our shared environment is dependent on the care and support of all humanity.

We are committed to identifying and changing our organization-wide and individual practices and policies that contain bias or are based in harmful structures. We are dedicated to recruiting, engaging, supporting and cultivating diverse perspectives in our communications and program production strategies, workforce and organizational structure, budget and business practices, policies and overall culture. BirdNote is committed to creating the inclusive environmentalism we want to see in the world. We recognize this requires strong and deliberate action with a focus on addressing inequities and centering diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and types of knowledge.
