Sound Escapes 2 - Inviting You to Listen
Written by Mark Bramhill, Featuring Gordon Hempton
MB: This is BirdNote.
All of us on the BirdNote team know the restorative power of nature, and, during this pandemic, when we’re minimizing our time outside our homes, we all miss it. That’s why we’re proud to share a new season of our podcast, Sound Escapes. Host Gordon Hempton transports us to some of the most incredible places on Earth through his nature recordings.
GH: I know the importance of being outside, but during this COVID lockdown the best I can do for many of the days is to simply open up the windows. And that's what the series is: The opening of a window, expanding your auditory horizons, and inviting you to listen.
[SOUNDSCAPE]
GH: And there's much more that can be said, but I won't be saying it — because Nature already is.
MB: You can hear all 8 episodes of Sound Escapes on our website, BirdNote.org, or in your favorite podcast app. Just search for “Sound Escapes.” For BirdNote, I’m Mark Bramhill. Sound Escapes is made possible by Jim and Birte Falconer of Seattle.
