Jason is a birder, lawyer, and occasional writer currently living in Portland, Oregon with his wife and daughter. A Bay Area native, he started birding while working at a large law firm in San Francisco and his spark bird was a Chestnut-backed Chickadee seen in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He is interested in the intersection of law and birding, particularly federal public lands. Jason’s writing has appeared on 10000Birds.com and in Birding. He received a BA from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School.
