Join BirdNote tomorrow, November 30th!
Illustrator David Sibley and actor H. Jon Benjamin will face off in the bird illustration battle of the century during BirdNote's Year-end Celebration and Auction!

We are thrilled to announce that Ariana Remmel has joined BirdNote as Managing Producer! You may already be familiar with Ariana as a writer and narrator for BirdNote Daily, but now we're excited to have them on board as a full-time member of the team. Ariana will oversee the writing, editing, and development of the radio shows and support the production of BirdNote’s longform and special projects. Their previous print and audio reporting has appeared in Science, Nature, Audubon magazine, and elsewhere.
"I'm thrilled that Ariana Remmel is joining BirdNote as a full-time member of the team! They have already served as a very important part of BirdNote productions as a writer, narrator, producer, and virtual event host over the past four years, and their enthusiasm for storytelling about birds is palpable to anyone who has met them or heard their episodes. Having Ariana's passion, leadership, and creativity in the role of Managing Producer for BirdNote Daily and BirdNote en Español will be a boon for BirdNote listeners, for current and future bird lovers, and for bird conservation for many years to come," shared Nick Bayard, BirdNote's Executive Director.
Ariana began their career as a chemist before making the switch to science journalism; they hold an M.S. in chemistry from the University of California San Diego and a M.S. in science communication from the University of California Santa Cruz.
A lifelong nature enthusiast, Ari is rarely found without a field guide, binoculars, and a wallet-sized scale bar (in case they find a cool bug to photograph!). Based in Little Rock, Arkansas, Ari enjoys volunteering with the National Association of Science Writers, the Central Arkansas Master Naturalists, and their local bird banding station.
