Oriana Pauli is a freelance writer from Australia who fell in love with birds the minute she was given a bad-tempered cockatiel for Christmas. She studied a Bachelor of Applied Science at the University of Queensland majoring in Integrated Resource Management, which focuses on the intersection between the natural and social sciences. Since that time, she has moved to Switzerland. After a terse argument with her Swiss husband, where he identified a bird in the backyard as a magpie-whilst she adamantly claimed it wasn't- she realised that magpies in Switzerland look very different to their Australian counterparts. She also realised she has a whole lot more to learn about birds.
