Green Heron are stealthy hunters dining mostly on small fish. They stand silently or move slowly among vegetation at the edge of shallow water. In a flash of movement the heron will grab or spear unwary prey. In addition to fish Green heron will feed on insects, snails, amphibians, reptiles, even rodents among other handy possibilities.
