Illustrator David Sibley and actor H. Jon Benjamin will face off in the bird illustration battle of the century during BirdNote's Year-end Celebration and Auction!
A male Lazuli Bunting perches then takes flight. These colorful birds are related to grosbeaks and share a similar diet of seeds and insects. They spend breeding season across western U.S. in sagebrush, scrub oak and pinyon-juniper woods, thickets, brush, and hedges. A short migration takes them south to winter in southeastern Arizona and western Mexico.
