Deborah Rivel has had a varied career. Recently she co-authored a book on birdwatching, Birdwatching in New York City and on Long Island. Her company, Wildtones, produces nature-based products for smartphones. She's been a wildlife film producer/director and distributor of TV programming, and she worked in radio including the NBC Radio Networks. Deborah is currently on the boards of Audubon New York State, American Friends of Birdlife, and The Alex Foundation. She's also a member of BirdLife Advisory Group and a board member of the tech company Gesturetek, Inc. Her interests include being in and introducing others to nature, wildlife and conservation, birds, animal behavior and cognition, wildlife photography, hiking, travel, dance, and decorative arts.
