Joseph Hautman of Plymouth, Minn., won the 2015 Federal Duck Stamp Contest with his painting of Trumpeter Swans in flight. His art will grace the 2016-2017 Federal Duck Stamp, which will raise million of dollars for conservation after it goes on sale in June 2016. This was his fifth Duck Stamp Contest win, making him one of the two winningest Duck Stamp artists.
Sales of the federal duck stamps -- a program managed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service -- are vital for wetland conservation: "ninety-eight cents out of every dollar generated by the sale of Federal Duck Stamps goes directly to purchase or lease wetland habitat for protection in the National Wildlife Refuge System."
