Ginger Oppenheimer is a technical editor and has served as an editor for more than 25 years for various education, science, and community publications. Raised in St. Louis, Missouri, followed by a stint in Minnesota, she has called Bellingham, Washington, her home for 30 years and still thrills to the site of Bald Eagles and falcons.
Ginger discovered her love of photography when she visited the Galapagos in 1999 and also found that birds and wildlife are not nearly as easy to photograph anywhere else beyond these stunning isles. She produces an annual calendar of her photographs, which are whimsical or odd, depending on your point of view.
Ginger has taught English as a Second Language, aerobics, rock climbing, and kayaking, and led Outward Bound trips for teens. In addition to her draw to photography, she and her husband love to cook and are theatre enthusiasts (mostly Ginger watching her talented husband on stage). She is a gardener and trail runner, and her two dogs keep her laughing. She has a BA in linguistics and Spanish.
