"I have been a book distributor since 1975. My avocation is photography. I have always been the one in the group that photographed birthday parties and holiday get-togethers, etc......It wasn't until I 'discovered' wildlife photography - especially birds - in 2000 that my love of photography found direction. I am fortunate to inhabit two of the most exciting worlds in the universe....books and birds.
"My interest in wildlife photography lead to writing the Medford Wildlife Watch blog for the Medford Transcript, which I've enjoyed doing since May of 2009. Also along the way, I have been lucky to have had photographs published by Mass Audubon, the Humane Society of the US, Project Coyote in California and various magazines, books, and newspapers. In August of 2015, photographer Kim Nagy and I released the book, Dead In Good Company, A Celebration of MOUNT AUBURN CEMETERY. It is a book of essays and wildlife photographs of America's first garden cemetery, in Cambridge, MA. Among the well known contributors to this book are Alan Dershowitz, David Sibley, historical novelist William Martin, and Pulitzer Prize-winner Megan Marshall. (www.facebook.com/deadingoodcompany).
"It has been a privilege to have spent thousands of hours in the past dozen years watching and photographing hawks, eagles, falcons, warblers, coyotes, and foxes, etc. Being in the field is exhilarating. A quote by Albert Einstein that I read a couple of years ago sums it up for me: 'Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better.' I find that to be more true every day!"
