Paola Martínez is a photographer and non-fictional writer with an unwavering love for the arts and nature. Her work explores human rights, gender equality, and climate change storytelling with an artistic influence of dance and visual arts. Paola is a Pulitzer Center grantee working on a project about the importance of octopus fisheries in the Yucatan Peninsula. Previously, she worked as a news anchor and producer in the public radio broadcaster in her hometown, Metepec, México. She collaborated with the Mexican Society at the University of Oxford, as a producer and narrator of their podcast on science divulgation. Her work has appeared in Reforma, Pie de Página, emeequis, La Desvelada, PoderLatam and Distintas Latitudes. Paola is a big fan of nature documentaries and always pictured herself as the narrator. Working with BirdNote made one of her childhood dreams come true!
