Eboni (she/her) is a creative, mother, southerner and water lover who finds peace, clarity, and healing in the outdoors. She is on a journey to decolonize the outdoors and her mind – reclaiming her relationship with nature one walk, swim, book, and conversation at a time.
Throughout her career, Eboni has worked with major donors, companies, foundations, and board members committed to advancing social, economic, and environmental justice in order to help close the gaps in education, employment, and access to the outdoors. As the Vice President of Philanthropy and a member of the Executive Team at the Student Conservation Association (SCA), Eboni collaborates with various colleagues to ensure SCA’s philanthropic strategy is closely aligned and mutually supportive of Finance, Marketing, and Program priorities. Leading a national team, Eboni is responsible for all private philanthropy: corporate and foundation relations; alumni giving and engagement; grassroots fundraising; board, major, and planned giving.
During her tenure at the SCA, Eboni has also held the role of Senior Officer of Major Gifts and JEDI Working Group Chair having led teams on expanding diversity, inclusive storytelling, and the strategic integration of JEDI – elevating it from an initiative to a lens.
Having graduated with distinction from The Johns Hopkins University SAIS, Eboni has a formal background in human rights, economics, and government. Having grown up in southern Virginia to an artistic and gardening mom, Eboni learned the various ways that loving nature could manifest. Thanks to her mother, she appreciates the smell of fresh air, gardening until the sun sets, and feeling the dirt under her nails along the way. In addition to this, Eboni is a plants-woman, self-taught horticulturist, and aspiring birder.
A longtime member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, selectee of Children and Nature Network’s Leadership Summit, and Planet Women member, Eboni is committed to joy, peace, and adventure outside. She hopes to inspire the same in her boys.
