Colene McKee is a Washington native and grew up in Yakima, camping and hiking with her family in the Cascade Mountains. She first became interested in birdwatching while a student at the University of Washington and, over the years, that has become her favorite excuse for traveling almost anywhere.
A fan of BirdNote from its first show onward, Colene now loves helping to create blogs on the website. Ever the trooper, she also helps organize the Christmas Bird Count.
Colene spends as much time outdoors as possible, hiking, gardening, biking, kayaking, and traveling. She lives near Carkeek Park in Seattle with her ever-patient husband, Bill, and her personal trainer, LuLu, the diminutive pitbull.
