Join BirdNote tomorrow, November 30th!
Illustrator David Sibley and actor H. Jon Benjamin will face off in the bird illustration battle of the century during BirdNote's Year-end Celebration and Auction!
Jeff Compton was drawn to birds through his love of being outside. He has learned that the sight and sound of birds add to any outing, that the more you learn the more amazing and fun birds are, and that it's always a good idea to carry your binoculars!
Jeff especially loves exploring parks, mountains, wilderness areas, and wildlife refuges -- and sharing them with others. After working for The Nature Conservancy in Washington State for 15 years, he took a job as a seasonal backpacking and river-rafting guide in the Glacier National Park area of Montana. His only regret: that his exciting new gig required him to miss the 50th Wenas Audubon Campout.
Below, Jeff rests on the summit of Boulder Peak in Glacier National Park. The photo above was taken near Tommyhoi Peak in the North Cascades.
