Board Member at Large
Lauri is an environmental attorney with 30 years of legal and organizational management experience. Currently, she provides consulting services to non-profits and federal and state agencies on conservation initiatives. Located in Anchorage, Alaska, where she has spent most of her professional career, Lauri revels in the great out-of-doors for which the most northerly state is famous. She initially became interested in birds while watching the spectacular coastal migrations in Alaska. As her interest has grown, it has taken her farther afield to the Arctic, the Aleutians, and abroad to Asia and South America. She finds the linkages between observation of the natural world, curiosity, broadened understanding, and support for conservation that BirdNote so eloquently bridges to be compelling. Lauri received her undergraduate degree in plant pathology from the University of California and her law degree from Harvard Law School. She joined BirdNote’s board in 2014.
