Board Member at Large
Dan joined BirdNote’s board in 2011. He previously worked with Chris Peterson and other BirdNoters at Seattle Audubon when the idea of BirdNote began to take shape. Dan has worked in management at other non-profit land-use and environmental organizations. He practiced environmental law for a decade. He brings experience as a nonprofit board member to the BirdNote board.
One of the things Dan enjoyed at Seattle Audubon: the expertise of so many outstanding birders, because he doesn’t have that know-how; “I’m a nature person more than a bird person. One reason I enjoy BirdNote is that it frequently puts bird-related stories, facts, and people in that broader context, which I can relate to.” In his free time, Dan serves on the advisory board of Seattle Shakespeare Company. He admits to a weakness for pinball.
